Typical responsibilities are to work on GIS related projects for our clients with a strong focus in Marine related sampling data.


  • GIS support for projects involving site investigation and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediments for clients with complex technical and regulatory issues;
  • Data extraction/compilation, interpretation of multiple sensor input;
  • Create a variety of digital mapping/remotely sensed products using various software platforms;
  • Create and disseminate production workflow documents;
  • Create and manipulate databases;
  • Elevation, Feature, and other specific data Processing and Manipulation;
  • Task Management;
  • Problem resolution;
  • Report writing;
  • Creating Scripts/Models/Macros in multiple sensor platforms;
  • Training, Quality control and providing feedback.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Marine Sciences or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS 10.x.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
  • Strong verbal, organizational and written communication skills.
  • AutoCad experience a plus.
  • Quality Assurance, documentation and providing feedback.

Senior Geologist link

DOF is seeking a senior Geologist to join our growing Seattle Office. Ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • 15+ years relevant work experience and a relevant bachelor’s degree, plus appropriate continuing education
  • Knowledge of the Puget Sound geology and hydrogeology
  • Extensive knowledge and application of environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, and/or environmental engineering
  • 40 Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (per 29 CFR 1910.120) with current 8-hour refresher training
  • Excellent writing and communication skills used to effectively interact with clients and undertake marketing and business development tasks and initiatives
  • Ability to work comfortably as a project manager, mentor and leader within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams of technical professionals to address complex environmental challenges for clients
  • Interest and desire in identifying, developing and securing new clients
  • Aptitude to identify and meet client needs with a focus on project budget; regulatory success and technical performance
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Word processing and spreadsheet software proficiency
  • Professional registration in Washington
