Port of Seattle Terminal 5 and 18 | Port of Seattle, Seattle, WA

Terminals 5 and 18 are deep draft berths on the Duwamish River; Terminal 5 is adjacent to the federal navigation channel on the river’s West Waterway, and Terminal 18 is located in the river’s East Waterway. At both berths, a narrow shoal adjacent to the terminal face had developed and interfered with vessel mooring.

DOF provided the following services:

• Provided permitting assistance and helped develop a long-term permitting strategy
• Conducted an underwater diver survey of the toe wall and an underdock survey of slopes at berths
• Conducted bathymetric survey review and dredge quantity calculation
• Conducted sediment characaterizations
• Prepared plans and specifications and provided bid support
• Observed construction and documented findings in daily reports and photos
• Prepared project closeout report
