He has been involved in over 30 complex sediment remediation projects at CERCLA and state-lead sites nationwide. Rob has been the Engineer of Record for large sediment remediation projects, such as Boeing Plant 2, and the Head of Hylebos, as well as medium-sized projects, such as the Northwest Oil Drain (NWOD) in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He has designed several carbon amendments and thin-layer capping projects in Puget Sound and the Pacific Northwest. He has significant experience presenting and explaining complicated remedial construction concepts and limitations to U.S. EPA Region 10 and other stakeholders. These communication skills allow for the establishment of shared realistic expectations and objectives. Rob is accustomed to managing and solving complex design issues that require the input of various team members to address site-specific engineering and construction challenges. This includes evaluating remedial options for locations with adjacent structures and other physical complications.
Rob has been the Engineer of Record for projects involving dredging, capping, natural recovery, and thin layer placement of sand mixtures. He has designed dredging projects such as the Head of the Hylebos in Tacoma, Washington, and Boeing Plant 2 in Seattle, Washington; capping projects such as Youngs Bay in Astoria, Oregon, and Johnson Lake in Portland, Oregon; and thin layer placement of sand mixture and enhanced natural recovery projects for Johnson Lake in Portland, Oregon, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Bremerton, Washington, and the Lower Duwamish Waterway Carbon Pilot project in Seattle, Washington.
