Teal is a registered environmental engineer who has been working in the environmental industry since 2010. She has worked in both the public and private sectors of the environmental field and since joining DOF in 2012, Teal has worked on multiple projects as lead design engineer and project manager. She has designed various stormwater, dredging, and habitat improvement projects and she routinely performs the environmental permitting, cost estimating, and preparation of plans and specifications for construction bidding. She has also worked with clients to prepare stormwater documents, including DMRs and SWPPPs, and ensure regulatory compliance with Industrial NPDES permits.
Teal has performed the construction oversight on a variety of different sediment remediation and environmental projects, which involves working with the contractor to ensure that the project is executed per the design, troubleshooting any issues that may arise and helping find solutions to keep the work progressing, managing budgets, and working with agencies to ensure that all permit criteria is being met. This experience is invaluable when it comes to designing and implementing future projects and working with clients, contractors, and agencies to find the best solution for each scenario.
